What is Intraoperative Neuromonitoring (IONM)?

Intraoperative Neuromonitoring (IONM) is the use of any neurophysiological methods to continuously monitor the functional integrity of the peripheral and central nervous system in the operating room with an aim of improving patients safety in procedures with post-operative risk such as orthopedic, neurologic , vascular and ENT surgeries.

Neuromonitoring is considered the standard of care in today’s operating rooms for neurologic, orthopedic, vascular, cardiothoracic and ENT surgical cases.

At Neuroguard Neuromoniting we continuously monitor electrical activity of one or more neural pathways in an anesthetized patient to maximize protection and minimize neurological morbidity from operative manipulations.
